Introducing: The VanderSanden's!
I think I can speak for many of us Wisconsinite's when I say that Fall is the BEST season of the year. The temperatures get cooler, the forests are painted with all sorts of gorgeous hues, football season kicks off and most importantly, no mosquitoes :) I only wish that I enjoyed pumpkin spice lattes....
As much as I love the season of fall, the month of October has always been the highlight of my year. For some reason, all of the good stuff just seems to occur in this glorious month. So naturally, when Kaci and Erik approached me about photographing their wedding, I couldn't wait to kick off October with their love story 8 years in the making!
I am still amazed at all of the beautiful work and planning that was put into their wedding day. If you can believe it, Kaci + Erik planned all of their wedding in less than a month!! After learning that Kaci's brother would be returning home briefly from the Army, these two did a fantastic job of moving up their wedding and setting each detail into place. I don't think I've ever met a more calm bride, Kaci, you are amazing!!
Spending the day with Erik + Kaci's friends and family truly gave me an appreciation for the love that they share together. Everyone was so relaxed and incredibly welcoming, which made my job all the more fun! :) The weather even cooperated with us! We got just enough of a break in the rain to have some fun on the golf course with the bridal party: always one of my favorite parts of the day!!
One of my parts of the day was seeing the way that Erik took such great care of his bride. Whether he was helping her to carry her dress or providing a steady had as she navigated the golf course in heels, he always took a minute to slow down and make sure that Kaci was okay. Moments like those bring me so much joy as a photographer because I know that that type of love is what strong marriages are made of.
Kaci and Erik, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your day! Congratulations on the start of your new life together, there are so many good things in your future! Enjoy some of my favorites from your day!
